OMINDEX® is a comparative, company performance rating system, approved by the Maturity Institute, which successfully combines conventional measures of financial performance with measures of ESG impact. The methodology that produces these comparative ratings assesses how companies create value; relative to their effective capacity.
The two unique ingredients in this rating system are:
- A clinical focus on the returns achieved, and achievable, from human capital, leadership practice and management systems
- An ability to measure the delivery of value to all stakeholders – what we call Total Stakeholder Value.
This is not just a radically different, corporate performance measurement system, it provides a detailed diagnostic to identify areas for significant value improvements and risk reduction. It does so by asking 32 high-level, causal, qualitative questions about core ESG, human capital and intangible systems; each with a subset of questions that provide objective evidence of additional value creation.
OMINDEX® follows the same type of rating scale as the credit rating industry. This ranges from AAA to D with 20 gradations. Based on research tested evidence and a growing dataset of rated firms, it is clear that higher rated firms are better able to sustain and create value measured across a range of financial, human and environmental indicators. More information on how OMINDEX® can be of value to you can be found via this link.
OMINDEX® Protocol:
The IP inherent in the concept, creation and design of OMR (Organizational Maturity Rating) and the OMINDEX® methodology (i.e. the question construction, analytical process, scoring mechanism and rating), is the property of OMS LLP. The OMINDEX® ‘AAA’ scale has been built and developed to add a clear, additional financial dimension alongside the Maturity Institute’s original Maturity scale, which remains the property of MI, and is made freely available for use by its membership.
OMS LLP, as an MI-approved provider of OMINDEX®, and in accordance with MI’s goal of maximising Total Stakeholder Value (TSV), makes the OMINDEX® methodology’s “OM30©” scoring and rating template openly available for viewing by all stakeholders; including companies, investors, regulators, and advisers.
Please Note: Permission to use OMINDEX© remains strictly under the control of OMS LLP in conjunction with the Maturity Institute and its professional standards
OMS LLP runs programmes on use of OMINDEX® on behalf of MI and as a key component of its global OM standards. Use of OMINDEX® as part of professional practice requires individuals to become accredited Maturity Analysts and members of the Maturity Institute; adhering to its standards of professional practice and development. Such professional practitioners will also be required to abide by current MI and OMS LLP policy and associated protocols.
